Children - Adults.

In accordance with recommendations from the American Association of Orthodontists, every child must see an orthodontist at the age of 7.

Orthodontic treatment is not usually started unless the child presents a malocclusion requiring an initial short period of treatment (around 9 months) in order to prevent the development of problems that would be more difficult to treat later.

A second appointment is necessary at 10 years of age in order to check that the permanent canines have grown correctly.

The main treatment phase usually starts between 10 and 14 years of age, towards the end of mixed dentition.
